Pedigree research, ofa's and field dogs

Postby crowek » Tue Jul 10, 2018 1:50 am

I'm doing some pedigree research for a future breeding. That includes looking at various pedigree sites and OFA. In the show dog world, it has been common practice to elbows since the 90's. Once you hit the mid 90's if you don't see elbows on OFA there is a pretty good chance they didn't pass. Gives me a place to start for ortho history.
Contemplating some field lines this time. There are an awful lot of missing elbows across the board. Is that because elbows haven't been done as long or are they actually failing? It looks like elbows didn't become routine until 2000 or so, more towards the later 2000's. Or are there really that many elbows not passing.

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
